I remember the version I played had a bug where pressing R would automatically skip to the next level. Sometimes you'd accidentally press it. Was that fixed?
That was actually a key I build-in to be able to try all levels. I used it during development, but forgot to remove it again in the first release of the game. It is gone now. You must have had one of the very first versions of the game :)
It seems an older release, but haven't seen that almost anywhere yet. Can you share some more background info please? Was it a physical release and is now available digital? What's different to the Revision entry? :)
Yes, I actually finished the game in 2018, and just had it laying around ever since. I was in talks with several publishers about doing physical releases, but none of them panned out.
My guess was that during the whole retro resurgence, some of the small retro publishers just had so much going on, that they tried to bite over more than they could chew, as some of them just suddenly didn't reply, even though they reached out themselves and expressed interest into publishing the game.
I did a small physical production myself, using bootleg Pokemon cartridges from Aliexpress actually, but never an official digital release. So that is why is released it now on itch.io. I still think it is a quite solid and well polished title, so I was a little sad that I never did an official release of it.

Are there any differences between this version and the one that came out in 2018? 🤔
no, it’s the same.

Okay, thanks for the clarification 🙂
This version you have uploaded here on itchio, although updated, still skips levels if you press the R button. confirmed on mesen and hardware.

Do you mind a review? We would like to publish a quickplay too on our YouTube.
Go ahead :) that would be awesome!
How do I send you a download key? It doesn't seem like I can send your profile DMs here on itch.io.
We will buy the game in the next days.
